Biography

RITUAL DOOM is one of a handful bands in the oldschool death metal scene, which exists in metal music. Established in the late of 1992, the original line up was Vitto - guitar/vocal, Vivi - guitar, Benni - bass, Agus - drum.

At that time, they covered a lot of songs from DEATH & MESSIAH, as the band it self was influence by those 2 death metal bands. Tho' their influences were not just from those bands mentioned above, members listen varied stuff from death metal to heavy metal to punk rock. In 1994 they released their first single, 'Ritual Ceremony', but they were still struggling to find the right "sound" that they were really comfortable with, the sound that they were famous for. And finaly in 1997, "Beginning of The End" was released. Their first ever Mini album/MLP. Which contains five songs on it: 1. Ritual Ceremony, 2. Darkness Rising, 3. Cannibal Festivity, 4. Fresh Blood, 5. Necrophilia. The track Fresh Blood was, kinda their like their "hit song" that got them a lot of attention from labels and made them in a heavy rotation of shows in their Hometown scene and other Cities'. the MLP really made them the household name in Indonesia's Death Metal scene. But not long after, they were calling it quits.

The culmination of the resurrection of RITUAL DOOM was at a grand event, METALCROT, which was held at the MS Hall Vicky Sianipar in Manggarai, South Jakarta, on Saturday, November 21, 2009. On that event there were generation retainer - metal retainer on the '90s era gathered in one stage in order to generate or should we say regenerate more passionate spirit of the older musicians who have opened the door for the future in Indonesian metal scene.

These event have motivated us to got back together. The itch was felt for all the members. RITUAL DOOM played that nite with Ari (ex-PURGATORY) took the vocal duty as an additioanal. But the band decided to keep him for good and the rest is history, RITUAL DOOM is back full force. With the line-up: Ari / Vocal, Vivi / Guitar, Boy / Guitar, Agil / Bass and Ajo / Drums.

RITUAL DOOM been writing, recording and working on new songs since then and with an album just on the horizon, they've been playing live a lot and giving the scene & metalheads just the taste of what's coming, something HEAVY!! With the current members, the band's really comitted about making this not just a comeback and it isn't just a phase but for good. RITUAL DOOM is back, and they're not going anywhere, so sit back and watch whatever these O.G's will bring to the table unfold.
